Keep A Cane in the House

If you are a dad charged with taking care of a boy, take my advice and keep a cane in the house.

Make sure that the boy is aware you have it and knows exactly what it's for.  I believe many discipline problems will be resolved before they start when a boy is aware a cane is waiting for him.

However, if it does become necessary to use the cane, begin by having the boy undress. The disparity in the levels of dress creates a clear distinction in rank and also makes the boy feel more vulnerable and hence easier to control. 

Since it should already have been explained to the boy that canings are for his benefit, he should assist in the process by fetching the cane for you.  By fetching the cane and handing it to you, he is tacitly signaling his acceptance of his punishment.

Now with the cane in your hand it is time to give him a formal lecture and for this the boy should be fully naked.  This lecture should be very specific, listing his misbehavior, your disappointment and what you intend to do about it - namely cane him.

Be very specific also about the upcoming caning.  That it will be on his bare bottom, how many strokes, and that it will hurt a lot.

Never rush a caning!  With the lecture complete, send the boy to the corner and have him place the cane ready for your use.  Generally boys dislike handling the cane, so it is a useful part of the punishment to make them do so. You can leave him there for as long as you wish to build his anticipation for the upcoming caning.

When you are ready, you can approach the boy.  You should see the cane and the boy's bare bottom ready for you.

You are now ready to cane.  Instruct the boy to step back from the wall and "bend over!"

The bent over position is highly embarrassing for the boy and makes him feel incredibly vulnerable.  You should now give him any instructions for his caning, such as a warning to remain in place and the possibility of additional strokes for not doing so.

Now it's time to proceed with what this has all been leading up to - to give the boy the cane.

Take your time, measure each stroke and cane firmly. You want it to hurt or both of you are wasting your time.  Remember, it's for the boy's own good.  Cane him hard and you won't have to cane him often!

A caning across the bare bottom is going to hurt - a lot, so do not be put off by screams, tears or begging from the boy.  Proceed methodically until he has received every one of the strokes you prescribed.

When used correctly, the cane will produce red welts on the boy's bottom.  This is completely normal. The welts will remain painful for some time and should serve to remind the boy of his punishment.  A well-caned bottom is something a boy should remember for a long time. This is what makes the cane such a useful item for disciplining boys.

Following the caning, I recommend a long period of corner time for reflection.  The boy should remain fully naked for this with his red-striped and sore bottom on display.

After his corner time the boy should be sent to his room for the remainder of the day.  All priveledges and entertainment are canceled so he can continue to reflect on his wrongdoing and his correction.

I must admit that when I was naughty, my dad certainly gave me the cane on my bare bottom.  I was also sent to my room afterwards with no TV or anything else.  My door was locked and I was left alone with my thoughts and sore bottom.

Unfortunately, the only way I had to entertain myself is something most boys enjoy.  Luckily dad never caught me or I know that cane and my bottom would have had another meeting!
