The role of sexuality in spanking

If you are reading this, you have the “spanking fetish” (kink, bug – call it what you will).  This fetish seems to be lifelong for most of us and I believe it is one of the more complicated of the fetishes encompassing as it does sexuality, domination & submission, BDSM, age regressions and possibly other areas of the psyche.

Today, however, I only really wish to address one aspect – that of sexuality.  How much of a role does sexuality play in spanking?  Of course this varies for all, so I can only answer for myself.  Let me begin by stating how I have evolved in the spanking world.  I started off exclusively as a sub, a boy, but I have evolved later in life into a dom, a dad.  The reason for this, I believe, is how I view spanking sexually.

The focal point of any spanking is the boy’s bottom.  That’s primarily what the spanking is all about after all!!  How important is the attractiveness of that bottom to the the whole spanking?  Again, I suggest this varies from person to person, but to me it is of utmost importance.

As a boy, it was very important to me that my bottom looked inviting to the man who was going to spank me.  The visual of myself wriggling that bare bottom over my dad’s knee was highly evocative.  In keeping with this visual I worked out a lot and kept my bottom crack shaved. (My bottom cheeks are still smooth to this day).  Conversely, the appearance of the dad was of little importance to me.   His demeanor and creativity were far more important because it was my bottom that was the center of his and my attention.  I was never interested in further sexual contact with the dad beyond spanking.

My transition to the role of dad came about because of natural aging.  I no longer felt my bottom was as attractive as it once was and hence I was not “turned on” by the idea of displaying it across another man’s knee.

As the dad, I really only spank boys whose bottoms I find physically attractive.  While there are certainly other traits that make a good spanking partner, if the boy’s bottom is not appealing,

it is unlikely I will be interested in spanking him.  Again, I usually do not engage in any activity with my boys beyond spanking, although on a few occasions I have done so.

I realize that this may seem somewhat judgmental, but we cannot choose what attracts us sexually.  I would be really interested to hear what role sexuality plays in others’ spanking fetishes.
