Harden your Heart and your Hand

One of the most important duties of being the “dad” in the house is maintaining discipline.  “Boys” in your charge need good order and discipline in their lives to live comfortably and happily.  If a boy becomes unruly and undisciplined, it is definitely dad’s job to bring him back under control.

When I am the dad, and faced with an unruly lad, then you know there’s going to be a smacked bottom in the near future!  Nothing, in my opinion, gets a boy back in line and focused on the right things in life better than a trip over dad’s knee for some well-placed smacks on his bare bottom.

But we all know spankings hurt and sometimes dads are hesitant to cause pain to a boy for whom we feel affection.  However, you do the boy no favors if you do not take the necessary steps to correct his errant behavior.

I say – “Harden your heart and your hand” and smack his bottom hard, just as he deserves.  You need to make this a lesson that will benefit the boy, he needs to remember it and nothing guarantees a good memory more than a sore bottom.  Smack him hard, it’s for his own good!

A hardened heart is necessary if the boy starts to cry, wriggle or show obvious signs of distress.  This is a perfectly normal part of getting spanked and is just the boy realizing his errors and showing remorse!  Do not let such things stay your hand.  Be strict and be strong and be sure that you continue the spanking until YOU are confident the boy has learned his lesson.

Once the lesson is learned, it is perfectly acceptable to comfort the boy who will be visibly distressed.  The spanking ends the matter, the boy is back in your control and will be happier for it once his bottom has cooled down.

I like to sit the boy on my knee in comfort showing him the difference between being a good boy and sitting on daddy’s knee and a bad boy, over daddy’s knee!  That hand that so recently was unforgivingly smacking his bare bottom and causing such pain, can now gently hold him.

So harden your heart and your hand.  Smack him hard and I guarantee you’ll have a well-behaved boy in the house.
