Harden your Heart and your Hand One of the most important duties of being the “dad” in the house is maintaining discipline.   “Boys” in your charge need good order and discipline in their lives to live comfortably and happily.   If a boy becomes unruly and undisciplined, it is definitely dad’s job to bring him back under control. When I am the dad, and faced with an unruly lad, then you know there’s going to be a smacked bottom in the near future!   Nothing, in my opinion, gets a boy back in line and focused on the right things in life better than a trip over dad’s knee for some well-placed smacks on his bare bottom. But we all know spankings hurt and sometimes dads are hesitant to cause pain to a boy for whom we feel affection.   However, you do the boy no favors if you do not take the necessary steps to correct his errant behavior.
